Started his career at Nottingham Forest where he
first came into contact with Nigel Clough. He made almost 50
appearances for the City Ground club and also had spells at Burnley,
Bristol Rovers, Gillingham and Watford.
He was transferred to Huddersfield in 2002 for
£750,000 making over 100 appearances for the Terriers. After three
seasons he moved to Sheffield Wednesday in a £100,000 deal. His time
at Hillsborough was blighted by injury and he had a spell on loan at
Grimsby Town to regain his fitness.
In July 2005 he signed for Cheltenham Town and
helped the club gain promotion to League One. His contract ran out
at the end of the 2006-07 season and he went on to join Gillingham
but soon fell out of favour and he rejoined Cheltenham in February
2008.
Craig joined the Brewers on loan in November
2008, making his debut as a substitute against Stevenage Borough. He
made his first start for the club in the next game against
Eastbourne Borough and he scored his first goal as Burton ran out
2-0 winners.
Left the club at the end of his loan spell but
returned on a non contract basis after his contract at Cheltenham
was cancelled.
