Joined the club on trial at the end of the 2004/05 season after being released by Stoke City. A local lad, Eric joined Derby County as a 9 year old and spent 5 years with the Rams in their academy sides. He made the move to Stoke aged just 14, and progressed through the ranks up to reserve team level.

Eric was adjudged to be too small to make the step up to first team football and was released.

He made a limited impact during his short career with the Brewers, making most of his appearances in minor cup competitions.

As a youngster Eric also had a blossoming TV career and had appeared in several shows including Dangerfield, Murder In Mind, Holby City and The Bill.
