Jody became Nigel Clough's first signing of the
summer following his release from relegated Droylsden.
He started his career as a trainee at Manchester
United but was released without making a senior appearance. He
joined Flixton, but it was at Radcliffe Borough that he made his
name as a prolific striker, scoring 97 goals in 127 games.
He moved to Shrewsbury Town for £20,000 and was
part of the Shrews 2004 Conference winning team.
He moved on to Accrington Stanley and spent time
on loan back at Radcliffe Borough as well as Stalybridge Celtic and
Droylsden, before moving to the Butchers Arms on a permanent basis.
Jody scored 10 goals for Droylsden last season
but could not prevent the club being relegated after just one season
in the Conference.
Jody started his Albion career with some promise
and certainly showed he had quick feet and good ball control. He set
up a number of goals for his team mates but was unable to find the
net for himself.
Nigel Clough kept faith with Banim for the first
two months of the season, but his failure to score a goal saw him
quickly fall out of favour.
Jody's remaining time with the Brewers saw
involved only in cup competitions or as a substitute in league
matches. He managed just three goals in an Albion shirt, all in cup
matches.
He was loaned out to Altrincham and Droylsden
before being released at the end of the season.
