The following pen picture is taken from the Burton Albion programme from October 1966;

Overseal born Roy Patrick joined Burton Albion from Exeter City at the beginning of the 1965/66 season.

His career started with Derby County, playing for the colts, reserves and first team and made his debut at the age of 16 in the first team at Sunderland. Derby won that match 2-1.

Roy, who has always played in either full back positions, joined Nottingham Forest in 1959 and from First Division Forest went to Second Division Southampton in 1962. After two years at Southampton he signed for Exeter and was in the Exeter promotion winning team from Division Four to the Third Division.
