Nottingham born player who started his career as
an apprentice at Forest before dropping down to the non-league
circuit.
He joined the Brewers from Ilkeston Town and was
instrumental in the promotion season of 1973/74.
He was signed by Luton Town in April 1974 along
with team mate Maitland Pollack.
Buckley played for four seasons at Kenilworth
Road before joining Derby County for £163,000. Buckley was an
amazing consistent player and went on to make over 200 consecutive
appearances for the Rams.
He moved to Lincoln City in 1986 and was part of
the team that suffered the first ever automatic relegation to the
Conference. Buckley and the Imps bounced straight back the
next season but Steve played only a handful more games for the club
before moving to Boston United.
