The following pen picture is taken from the
Burton Albion programme from March 1967;
Burton
born, he played for Burton and South Derbyshire Schoolboys and
Belvoir FC. He later moved to Robirch and then joined Burton.
He
started off in Burton's "A" side which has now been scrapped and
moved into the reserves at wing-half. He made his first team debut
in the Midland Floodlit Cup last season and has had a couple of
outings in the same competition this season against Wellington and
Corby.
Tony,
aged 20, was selected to play for Burton while while with Belvoir in
the FA Youth Cup and was captain of the side. Burton were drawn
against Wolves and they lost 7-0.
This
season Tony, an apprentice tinsmith, has played in all the Central
Alliance matches and scored nine goals. He has played in both the
half-back line and forward line.
