BURTON ALBION 1 KETTERING TOWN 1 (31/03/09)
The
Brewers extended their to nine points at the top of the Blue Square
Premier league with a hard fought point at the Pirelli Stadium.
Darren Stride scored his first goal since August to give Burton the
lead after just eight minutes before Gareth Seddon equalised for the
visitors ten minutes later.

BURTON ALBION 4 GRAYS ATHLETIC 0 (28/03/09)
Two
goals from Lee Morris helped the Brewers take another massive step
towards promotion to the Football League.
The
first goal came after just two minutes after Darren Stride's flicked
on header fell into the path of Morris, who raced clear before
sliding his shot under the goalkeeper.
John
McGrath made it 2-0 with a stunning free kick before Morris netted
his second, and Burton's third goal.
The
visitors started the second half with much more purpose and put the
Albion defence under a lot more pressure but Keith Gilroy ended any
faint hopes of a Grays comeback by scoring with a looping effort in
the 84th minute.

EASTBOURNE BOROUGH 1 BURTON ALBION 2 (21/03/09)
The
Brewers snatched a last gasp victory thanks to three inspired
substitutions from manager Roy McFarland.
The
home side took the lead in the first half and looked as though they
would hold out for all three points. The introduction of Martin
Butler on the hour mark sparked a revival with the equalising goal
just minutes later, and with the game heading for a draw substitutes
Mark Byrne and Greg Pearson combined deep into injury time to score
the winner.
With
Cambridge United and Histon not in action, the Brewers have extended
their lead over their promotion rivals to eight and fifteen points
respectively.

The

WEYMOUTH 0 BURTON ALBION 5 (17/03/09)
The
Brewers recovered from three successive league defeats with a
convincing win at the Wessex Stadium.
It
was literally a case of men against boys, as a full strength Burton
side faced a home side made up of youth players and trialists.
Lee
Morris scored the opening goal after 24 minutes to begin the rout,
before further goals from Harrad and Gilroy. Morris grabbed his
second, and Burton's fourth goal, five minutes after the interval,
and an own goal gave Albion their biggest ever away win in the
Conference.
Wins
for Cambridge United and Histon ensured that Burton's lead at the
top of the table remains 5 points with 9 games left to play until
the end of the season.

BURTON ALBION 1 SALISBURY CITY 2 (14/03/09)
The
current run of poor form continued at the Pirelli Stadium this
afternoon with defeat against mid table Salisbury City.
It
was the Whites that ended Burton's Southern League title hopes in
the 2000/01 season when they sprung a shock defeat on the Brewers
and this result has put a huge dent in their chances again.
Greg
Pearson wasted a great chance in the first minute of the game and
his miss was punished as the visitors took the lead after 25 minutes
through Charlie Griffin's header.
Marc
Goodfellow then had a chance to snatch the equaliser but he headed
wide after good work by Keith Gilroy, and the visitors went in at
half time two goals ahead after Charles Ademeno looped a header over
Kevin Poole.
Roy
McFarland rang the changes after the break, and the introductions of
Lee Morris and Darren Stride added extra impetus to the team. Morris
bagged a late goal to set up a grandstand finish but the Brewers
could not produce another goal to prevent them slipping to a first
home defeat of the season.

BREWERS BOOST SQUAD WITH LOAN SIGNING (12/03/09)
Burton Albion manager Roy McFarland has brought in a new face ahead
of Saturday's home game against Salisbury City.
Nottingham Forest midfield player Mark Byrne has joined the club on
loan until the end of the season. The 25 year old Irishman has made
three substitute appearances for The Reds including one in last
months FA Cup clash against Derby County.

EBBSFLEET UNITED 2 BURTON ALBION 1 (11/03/09)
The
Brewers failed to capitalise on Histon's defeat last night as they
suffered defeat in this re-arranged Blue Square match.
The
hosts were leading in the original game before heavy snowfall caused
the game to be abandoned, and they scored the opening goal again
this time through Guiseppe Sole's stunning free kick.
Greg
Pearson equalised with his first goal in 2009 but a harsh penalty
decision against Michael Simpson allowed Sole to score the winner
from the spot.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED 2 BURTON ALBION 0 (07/03/09)
The
Brewers tasted defeat in the Blue Square Premier league for the
first time since 18th October 2008, but defeat for Histon at ten man
Kettering Town made up for the disappointment.
The
Trade Recruitment Stadium has not been a happy hunting ground for
Burton, with only one victory since their first visit in 1960 and
the misery continued as Martin Butler was red carded for a challenge
on U's keeper Danny Potter. It was the third time a Burton player
had seen red in the last four meetings between the two clubs.
Cambridge's win lifts them into second place in the table, although
they are 11 points behind having played two games more than the
Brewers. Histon dropped to third, 12 points behind the leaders and
with only one game in hand remaining.
